Scheduled for Saturday 19th January the annual “Proms Night” was, for the first time in it’s history, postponed due to snow.

Birmingham Citadel Band made a return visit to Rushden and were greeted by a capacity crowd. This was a remarkable achievement by the people of Rushden as it was only a relatively short time since our last visit in 2011.

Brass Band enthusiasts will be well acquainted with the BBC Radio 2 programme “Listen to the Band” with Frank Renton. The members of the Birmingham Citadel Band were delighted to learn that the band was featured on this week’s programme.

Birmingham Citadel Band made their first visit to Sale and after a welcome tea, they played to a full hall of over 200 people. The festival offered a varied programme which boasted major works such as Eric Ball’s “Resurgam” and Paul Lovatt-Cooper’s “Fire in the Blood”.
New CD Makes Top 10 in Brass Band charts
